My husband and I rarely get a chance to go out and do something as a couple. With our busy work schedules and taking care of our little one, we quite honesty rarely find the time. However last week my hubby surprised me with tickets to Cirque Du Soleil. I was ecstatic I honestly could not wait. So I made sure that all the necessary preparations where made.
Baby sitter - check, restaurant reservation - check, little black dress - check. I was all set. All bases where covered, but the morning before my exciting evening out I awoke to a head that felt like it was going to explode, a runny nose and the most disgusting sounding cough. WHY! This always happens; I get sick at the worst possible time.
Once I managed to get myself out of bed I called my girlfriend to tell her what had happened. In-between the why me moments and playing detective as to how I got this cold she made a really interesting suggestion. She suggested that I try a garlic tea recipe that her mother and grandmother swear by. All it consisted of was boiling two cups of water, roughly chopping 4 cloves of garlic, bringing the mix to the boil , and straining it. To be honest I was a bit sceptical of the recipe but what did I have to lose.
To my surprise not only did it taste quite nice but by mid afternoon my head ache had subsided and my runny nose and cough where under control. Not all hope was lost. All I had to do now was get rid of my garlic breath haha.
