How To Manage Stress

Stress in our day to day lives is inevitable. With the hustle and bustle of modern day living the question must be asked what doesn’t cause stress. The simple task of ordering a coffee can be stressful enough for me haha. But in all seriousness here are some helpful tips from the Beyond Blue foundation for dealing with stress

Keep things balanced:

"Try to make sure you have a balance in your day between work and doing the things that you enjoy. This might mean learning to say ‘no’ more often so that you don’t take on new things that will add to your to-do list, or your stress levels".(Beyond Blue)


Exercise has been widely regarded for many years as one of the best ways to reduce stress in one’s life. This is due to the body releasing endorphins (the bodies feel good drugs) into the blood stream during physical exertion. “Physical activity such as swimming, walking, yoga, cycling, dancing or going to the gym can help reduce the tension in your muscles and your mind.”

Taking time out

Constantly Obsessing over the causes of your stress can be highly counterproductive in reducing It. Distracting yourself can be one of the most effective ways of reducing your stress. This can consist of catching up with friends, listening to music, engaging in physical activity, anything that takes you out of your current head space and surroundings, and helps put your stress to the back of your mind.
